SUOMEN METSÄTIETEELLISEN SEURAN APURAHAT HAETTAVISSA 18.1. – 20.2.2012

Suomen Metsätieteellinen Seura (SMS) toimii Suomen metsätieteellisen tutkimustyön hyväksi. Tarkoituksen toteuttamiseksi seura myöntää hallinnassaan olevien rahastojen tuotoista SMS:n apurahoja metsätiedettä edistäviin tarkoituksiin: tutkimusapurahoja, matka-apurahoja, apurahoja muuhun kansainväliseen toimintaan, kieliopintoihin ja muihin metsätiedettä edistäviin toimintoihin.

Lisäksi Suomen Metsätieteellisen Seura jakaa Metsämiesten Säätiön IUFRO-toimintaan myöntämän apurahan edelleen tutkijoille. Apurahoja myönnetään tutkijoiden osallistumiseen IUFRO-toimintaan ulkomailla ja IUFRO-toiminnan järjestämiseen Suomessa.

SMS:n apurahojen ja IUFRO-apurahojen haku alkaa 18.1.2012 ja päättyy 20.2.2012 klo 16:00. Apurahoja haetaan sähköisellä apurahahakujärjestelmällä.

Ennen hakemuksen laatimista hakijoita pyydetään lukemaan huolellisesti ohjeet apurahojen hakijoille ja ohjeet sähköisen järjestelmän käyttöön. Ohjeet löytyvät SMS:n verkkosivuilta.

Päätös apurahoista tehdään maaliskuun loppuun mennessä. Myönnetyistä apurahoista ilmoitetaan hakijoille henkilökohtaisesti. Apurahat julkistetaan SMS:n kevätkokouksessa maalis-huhtikuussa.

APPLICATION OF GRANTS OF THE FINNISH SOCIETY OF FOREST SCIENCE IS OPEN FROM 18 JAN. TO 20 FEB. 2012

Finnish Society of Forest Science (SMS, Suomen Metsätieteellinen Seura) promotes forest research in Finland. As a means to reach this goal, the society awards grants for research, travel that supports research or post-graduate studies, other international activities, language studies, and other purposes that advance forest sciences.

Finnish Society of Forest Science also administrates grants for IUFRO activities awarded by the foundation Metsämiesten säätiö. These grants will be awarded for Finnish researchers for participation in IUFRO activities abroad and for organising IUFRO activities in Finland.

The application for the SMS grants and IUFRO grants will open on 18 January and close on 20 February 2012. The applications will be submitted using the electronic grant application system. Link to system will be published at the opening of the application period in http://www.metsatieteellinenseura.fi/apurahat/169-sms-grants.

The applicants are requested to carefully read the instructions for applicants and for the use of the electronic application system. The instructions can be found under the link given above.

Decicion on the grants will be made by the end of March. All applicants will receive a personal notification. The grants will be published in the Spring meeting of SMS in April.
